BFE ComponentsThe BFE-2 comes complete with the backfire control module, interrupter valve, wire harness and vacuum tubing.

Click on the picture for a larger view. BFE SchematicHere is how the BFE works: When the equipment operator moves the ignition switch to the off position the BFE is activated. The module sends a vacuum signal to the interrupter valve to block fuel delivery to the carburetor. The solid state ignition control module will continue to supply power to the ignition system until all the fuel down stream of the interrupter valve is used up. Once the fuel is depleted the BFE stops the ignition to the engine. The interrupter valve is then de-energized to allow instant restart of the engine. The average delay time from switch off to shutdown is no more than one second. Click on the picture for a larger view
